[ return to Quack FAQ ]
Roger,
I am looking for small, about 2-2 1/2 inch,
FLOATING UPRIGHT rubber ducks to float in water glasses at a baby
shower. Do you have small FLOATING UPRIGHT rubber ducks?
Hi Linda,
Thank you so much for your email! Roger is a real
“hunt and peck” typist, so he asked me to answer you. What a cute idea
for a baby shower! I hope this information is not too late for the big
event. RubaDuck does not sell ducks at this time, so I did some quick,
“on the fly” research on your question. I was able to do some tests on
the small ducks in our collection and see what I can tell you. In
general, the best floaters are the rubber ducks that are sealed and
weighted (so, NOT squeaker ducks). Most tiny rubber ducks that I’ve
seen are not sealed and weighted, so this could be why you have been
having trouble finding one to work with. I was able to do some tests on
the small ducks in our collection and see what I can tell you. I found
that one of our recent acquisitions, the “microduck” from
American Ducky, would fit your needs perfectly, as long as you set
him gently into the water and don’t bump him around too hard (since he
is a ‘squeaker’ and not sealed and weighted).
Unfortunately, it appears that the microduck is not
currently available thru American Ducky. They have a great reputation
for outstanding customer service, tho, so I strongly recommend that you
email them and see what they can do for you.
Let us know how you make out!
